What to review
Crawling, rendering, indexation and performance problems can affect search visibility. An audit should separate reproducible issues from assumptions and connect each recommendation to an implementation owner.
Approach
- Review representative templates alongside crawl data, Search Console and relevant logs.
- Check response codes, robots rules, canonical URLs, sitemaps, internal links and rendering.
- Review structured data against visible content and applicable search feature requirements.
- Measure performance with field and laboratory data, and identify practical changes with engineering.
- Deliver a prioritised backlog with affected examples, evidence, recommended changes and a validation method.
How to validate
Agree the baseline, implementation responsibilities and review window. Validate fixes after release and distinguish completed work from recommendations that have not yet been implemented.
